Of course I loved Eva Gabor as Lisa Douglas on “Green Acres” as a kid. And her voice-overs in “The Aristocats” and “The Rescuers” were fantastic. But by the time I wrote her a fan letter on September 20th, 1979, she wasn’t acting so much. But she WAS in all the magazines for being a socialite and the busy business maven of a thriving wig empire. My letter to Eva was replied to (in a week) with this “autographed” postcard, which had her pre-printed signature on the front AND back. And although it is hand-dedicated “To Bobby” in ballpoint pen – I doubt it’s her writing.
It wasn’t until I started purchasing autograph collections in later years that I was able to get Eva’s real autograph. And of course there was the time that I wrote to her sister, Magda, and got ALL of the Gabor women to hand-sign a family photo! (See Gabor Women)

I also have in my collection, but have not yet read, her oddly titled “Orchids and Salami” biography from 1954. And there’s a great book about all of the Gabor Women called Gaborabilia that you might want to check out – the pictures alone are worth the price of admission!
